Jalapeno Palmetto Cheese Fritters

Palmetto Pimento Cheese Fritters

Looking for an easy appetizer for a party or a fun side dish with dinner? Jalapeno Palmetto Cheese Fritters are crunchy, spicy and gooey delicious. The best part is they don’t take long to make!

Here’s what you’ll need:

12 ounces Palmetto Cheese with Jalapenos – Original and Bacon can also be used.
1 1/2 cups All purpose flour
1 1/2 cups Buttermilk
2 1/2 cups Panko Breadcrumbs
Oil for frying
Red pepper relish (optional)

Set up 3 bowls for your breading station (One flour, one buttermilk, one breadcrumbs). You may need more or less of these ingredients depending on how many balls you make and how thick you bread them.
Form 1 Tablespoon of Palmetto Cheese into a ball. Roll into flour, then buttermilk, then breadcrumbs. If you can still see cheese, roll in the buttermilk and breadcrumbs one more time….no additional flour is needed. Place on a sheet pan or plate. Once you roll however many you like, place them in the freezer for 30 minutes. This will firm everything up and make it easier to fry.
In a small saucepan, heat 3 cups of oil to 350F. Slowly add your PC Fritters to the oil and fry until golden. Remove with a slotted spoon and place on paper towel to drain excess oil.
Serve with pepper relish or your favorite dipping sauce. Enjoy!

Pick up a tub and you will see why this pimento cheese is the best on the market today.

    • Hi Ashley! It might work, but we haven’t tested it out. Would suggest an oven temp of 400F to get the breading to brown and keep the cheese from melting.

  1. Is it possible for you to add a Pinterest link to your recipes? I like to “file” recipes I see online onto my Pinterest boards. I don’t like to repost on FB because it’s not an organized way to save recipes like my Pinterest account is. I do find a lot of recipes on FB and save them to Pinterest but that doesn’t seem possible with your links. I love PC and want to save nearly every recipe you post! Thanks for the consideration.

  2. Wish we had in Cincinnati Ohio! I’m originally from Anderson, SC. Have you tried to get in Jungle Jim’s here in Cincinnati? They are famous for carrying everything, great tourist attraction. There are two locations here and if is incredible..maybe you could get your cheese there. Google “Jungle Jim’s Cincinnati”, it is an amazing place for foodies! Let me know if you do!

    • Hi Melanie! You should be able to get Palmetto Cheese at your area Kroger locations. If they don’t carry for some reason, please ask the Deli Dept Manager to bring PC back in. We’ll check out Jungle Jim’s too, thank you for the info and for posting.

    • What happened, Lauren? Just have to make sure to double bread them if they aren’t coated enough. Freezing them after breading so they’re firmed up is also key. And just have to make sure the oil is hot enough. If they sit in the oil for too long they tend to fall to pieces and not work out too well. Hope this helps 🙂

  3. I have never tried this one..We only have ruth’s and star pimento cheese here in anderson,sc..Ruth’s is better than Star…But I love some toasted pimento cheese sandwiches..this looks like it would be so good..Didn’t know there was any other brands out there..Will have to try this one..

    • Hi Karen,
In Anderson, South Carolina, you should be able to find Palmetto Cheese at Ingles, Walmart, Sam’s Club, Publix, Bi-Lo, and Food Lion. We’re not located next to Ruth’s or Star brands in those locations. Walmart and Sam’s Club have the best price for PC in your area. We’re usually in the Dairy or Deli Dept. area. Please let us know what you think about Palmetto Cheese if you give us a try 🙂

  4. Your pimento cheese with jalapenos is divine! I’ve never tasted anything better. You get my award of excellence!!!
