Jalapeno Palmetto Cheese Strawberry Tarts are a combination of sweet, creamy, spicy and delicious. If you prefer something not as sweet, the strawberry preserves and garnish can be replaced with pepper relish/jelly and a roasted or diced red pepper garnish.
Yield – 24 tarts (will depend on your pan size)
1 box – Refrigerated Pie Crust Dough or enough scratch made dough for a two crust pie
1 – 12 ounce tub Palmetto Cheese with Jalapenos (Original or Bacon can also be used)
1/2 cup Strawberry preserves
Strawberries for garnish
Step 1. Preheat your oven to 375F
Unroll the dough and cut into 2.5″ circles. A small biscuit cutter can also be used to make your rounds.
Step 2. Place your dough round into the pan and press down to form the sides. We’re using a tart pan kit that we purchased from a kitchen store, but a small cupcake pan or small tart pans will work just as well. The end goal is to make mini pie shells. Adjust your rounds according to your pan size.
Step 3. Poke holes into your pressed dough so they remain flat when baking. Bake at 375F for 10 minutes until light golden brown.
Step 4. Remove the baked shells from the pan and let cool for 10 minutes.
Step 5. Spread a 1/2 teaspoon of strawberry preserves over the crust bottoms.
