This one is great for a party or something different to have for dinner. The best part is that it’s super simple to make.
Here is what you’ll need:
1-1/2 lb bag Meatballs, frozen appetizer size (48 count)
24 oz Marinara Sauce, jar or canned work just fine
12 oz Palmetto Cheese – Original, Jalapeno, or Bacon
1/2 loaf French Bread
1/2 cup Olive Oil
2 tsp Garlic Powder
1 Tbsp Oregano
Preheat oven to 350F
Pour frozen meatballs into a microwave safe dish, and heat for 5 minutes to thaw them out. Add the marinara sauce to the meatballs, stir and set aside.
Slice french bread into 1/2″ thick slices until you make 12 slices. You can slice up the whole loaf if you like and use for extra bread. In a small bowl, combine olive oil, garlic and oregano and stir. Brush one side of each of the 12 slices with the seasoned oil.
In a 9″ x 13″ casserole dish, place the slices of bread with oiled side facing up around the outer edge of the pan. In the center of the pan, add the meatballs mixed with sauce. Top the whole thing with Palmetto Cheese. It’s easiest to use a teaspoon and scoop it out on top of the meatballs and the bread.
Place into a 350F oven for 20-25 minutes.
Serve with a spoon to scoop out the cheesy saucy mixture and enjoy!!
