12 oz. Palmetto Cheese – Original, Jalapeno, or Bacon
1 pkg Pillsbury® Crescent Dough Sheet
1/4 C. Pesto
Directions:
Roll out one package of Crescent dough onto a floured surface. Spread Palmetto Cheese evenly over the dough. Cut the dough in half down the center and begin rolling from the center. Wrap rolls and freeze for at least one hour. You can keep the rolls in the freezer and pull out for any occasion, but make sure you wrap them tightly. Cut the rolls into 1/2″ thick slices and place the slices into a lightly greased small muffin pan. Bake at 400F for 15 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from the oven and brush with Pesto.
Can this be made ahead at night and kept in fridge and cooked in morning?
Hi Pamela! You can put them in the refrigerator or freezer. If you freeze them, you can pull them out and slice as needed whenever you want a pinwheel 🙂 Just make sure to tightly wrap.
Can you use something other than pesto? Thanks
Can you use a topping other than pesto?
Hi Peggy! You could also use pepper jelly or even a light glaze of strawberry or raspberry jelly. Sweet and/or spicy flavors are usually a great combo with PC 🙂
Did you mean Pillsbury Crescent Dough Sheet, instead of croissant dough sheet?
Yes! Sorry about that and thank you for pointing that out. We updated the recipe.
Love this cheese spread. Great price at Costco where I live!
Hi Linda! Thank you for spreadin’ the soul for Palmetto Cheese 🙂
They sell it at Costco in the large size so much cheaper than local groc. Store where I live!
