Palmetto Cheese Won Tons

You’ll need:
12 ounces Palmetto Cheese – Original, Jalapeno, or Bacon
1 package Won Ton Wrappers
Small bowl of water
3 cups Oil for frying
Strawberry jelly, pepper jelly or pepper relish (optional dipping sauces)

Follow these instructions or prepare won tons as directed on the back of the package.  Lay out a won ton wrapper on the counter. In the center of the won ton, place a teaspoon of Palmetto Cheese. Dip you finger in the water and moisten the outer edge of the won ton wrapper. Fold in half and press edges together to seal. This keeps the cheese from coming out when frying. Fold the other two ends to the middle of the won ton and lightly press. Continue to make as many won tons as you wish.

Bring 3 cups of oil to 350F in a small saucepan. Place won tons into the hot oil and fry until golden brown. This should only take a minute or two. Transfer from the pan to a paper towel to soak up the extra oil.

Heat strawberry jelly or pepper jelly in the microwave until it begins to melt. Stir and use as the dipping sauce for the won tons.

If you’re making these ahead of time, place the won tons on a sheet pan and cover with a moist paper towel. This will keep the dough from drying out and cracking.
